Default TB

Yeah i was talking about the size of the throttle body. I few websites said that the smaller 68mm bore works better on the full size 4x4 rams than the 71 or 72 mm bore. Just curious if anybody had tried any TB and which size got the best performance.

As for the exhaust, when I had the exhaust guy cut the Y pipe and come off in true duals into the dual in-dual out muffler, it made a huge difference. The end of the y pipes where the 2 sides come together are crimped and seemed to be a real constriction. The only issue I have now is that if things start to rust or rot, the y pipe is almost $600. Didn't think about it when I had him do it.

you can get a magnaflow 2.5 inch in to 3 inch out y-pipe collector that looks and works real good for $26. no need to get the whole y-pipe.

For the throttle body go with thefastman.com (sameone airram runs). Its a great mod for our motors, and Im running the 68.5mm since that is whats recommended from fastman himself....Like mentioned above get your factory y-pipe replaced, not the whole piece.

I have jba ss headers and the gain is good with them. I did not gain a big difference but its a fair upgrade.

By efan, do you mean electric fan, as in replacing the clutch driven fan with an electric fan?? If so, have you found a bolt in replacement???

they are all similar. nothing really bolts right in, but its fairly easy to mount the efan and wire it. every one of looked at it pretty much universal. i was going to grab a oem efan from a markVIII and then get a controller for it, just cause i can probably get that fan for $25 from the junk yard. there are tons of fans out there though. i see alot of guys using the flex-a-lite fans and using stock fan shroud to mount the crontroller too.

Default Plugs??

What about spark plugs. I'm running bosch platinum 2's right now and they seem ok, but I see from a lot of people that copper core plugs run better. I also see a few people running the NGK iridium's. Any suggestions?????

If you change them every 30k like your supposed to, use copper. If you want a little more life, use NGK Iridiums. I use the Iridiums because I dont want to change every 30k

I had some platinum plugs before I had the Iridiums and I noticed less MPG and the truck ran a tad bit rough. The NGK's made her smooth again and I only have 30k on these so they should last another 25-30k...

Hi to all I joined the site a while back but had to put my mods on a break due to deployment to Iraq but on my way home soon. I have a 03 quad 4.7l, started with the K&N CAI, Fastman TB can't remember the size think the 68 mm one and a fitch fuel catalyst.
After reading through the site my plan is the SCT 3815, Gibson Headers, muffler and pipe still thinking about, Flexlite 180 Extreme and the Transgo Shift kit 2nd stage. Changing to synthetic like royal purple for engine, diff, tranny And spark plug/ wire not sure on witch ones yet.
This is my first go at major mechanic work on a truck just want to make sure the mods I have picked so far will work with each other, also the truck has 95000 on it, is this to much milage for bolt on up grades I don't plan to tear into the engine mainly bolt on stuff for now. Thanks in advance for advice
