Default CAI using stock airbox

Hello, I have a 05 5.7 QC with a K&N drop in filter (It came with the truck) Is there any way to create a CAI using the stock airbox and would it be as beneficial as say a designated cai?

Thanks

You can use the AiRaid Jr. Intake. I have one and i am currently using the stock air box. i also removed the piece that is on the box. I got mine for around $155 USD.

Experimenting with building your own air intake is fine
but learn how to read your IAT and MAP sensor
to see if you indeed made improvements
or you will be just a WAG'er
{wild *** guesser}

At the very least
use the stopwatch built into your cell phone
to do before and after tests
at the same wind, air pressure and temperature.

The Airaid I installed utilizes the stock airbox and was a snap to install. Less than an hour from opening the hood to closing it up and taking that first "post-CAI" drive.

if your thinking about doing that, then I would go buy a TrueFlow drop in filter and replace the air tube from the air box to the resonator with just a straight peice of PVC or something....the stock air intake draws air from the optimum place so why not make use of it if you want to...

Buy the true flow intake, it uses the stock air box and replaces the rest of the intake with a grey painted metal tube. I am very happy with this intake.

For you that used the airrade kit with the stock air box. Can you tell a difference at all? My truck also came with a K&N drop-in and I am on a cheap budget and was looking into one of those jr. kits. is it worth it not? thanks.
