doge hemi vs. chevy 427

RE: doge hemi vs.chevy 427
I would take that chevy over something like an srt10 any day, that truck will own all performance trucks, sorry guys. They did with 7.0 liters and 8 cylinders what it took dodge to do with 8.3 liters and 10 cylinders. I love vipers and all that but I do think that for how large their displacement is the power of the viper motor is rather weak.
A 6.1 in a RCSB dakota on the other hand, I would probably rather have one of those.

i'd still take the new 2008 viper over that truck any day of the week......the new viper is nice!!! 580 HP out of 8.4L....i know, not great but hey...it's damn near 600HP stock.....and i'm way too brand loyal to ever think about buyin a brand X vehicle anyways
and besides, if you want a 426 hemi...go buy the stroker kit for the 6.1L and make your own 426 hemi...or the stroker kit for the 5.7 and make your own 6.4L

Why does everyone hate gm so much? Dodge and gm are of the same origin. Dodge (mopar) originally supplied gm with motors and parts. most notibley oldsmobile. I would buy the chevy 427 personally if dodge didnt step up to the plate. Like it or not the 427 is a beast. If it was a ford on the other hand i wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole.

I see no reason a new SRT10 truck couldn't have the 600hp version they're now using in the Viper. Dodge's V10 has never been about max power per cubic inch. It's been about making massive power from idle to redline. If they set it up to do super-high rpm, it'd make "paper horsepower" too.
Hondas work the same way. They make maybe 150 torque and then spin 'em to 9000+ rpm to rate the horsepower since it's just a mathematical equation. It doesn't translate to real, usable power.

the 454 ss silverado of the early 90's only had about 255 hp. The torque was more impressive. 405 ft/lbs at 2400 rpm. I raced one from a lite. Almost kept pace for a bit until i wound up and then it got ugly for him. Probably mostly stock. But then again so is my hemi.

That thing is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD! Just make smaller bumper vents its puuuuurfect. Yea yea yea, our dodges are cool, but come on, that was sa-weet. The new silverado/sierras look good now, though I wouldn't want any one of the base or midlevel ones, only thatconcept or a denali sierra.
