RE: Show Us Pics Of Ur Lifted Trucks
Lifting A V6, V-8, V-10, CTDall can be done it's the same truck But the key thing Is GEARING getting it right Most likley you going to put Oversize tires on the truck thats where the headachs start NOT THE LIFT it self.
You HAVE toREGEAR with the 3.7 V-6 it undered powered from the get go and bigger tires will kill it, the V-8, V-10, CTDyou will have to do the same but you will not beas undered powered as the V-6 but even with the larger motors regearing helps out a lot.
The one draw back for the V-6 is beening Undered powered you need power to go off road you you down that long steep down hill fine but sooner or latter you have to climb back up it to get out will you'r 3.7 have enought to do this.
Unless you just want it for the looks of lifted truck and it going to be a street truck that looks off road if so go for it but as for me I like to Bonsi Bob it when I go off road have fun with it do some perrunning with it get some air It never be a 4x4 but 2 Wheeling can be fun also the only time I used 4x4 is when I knew I was going to get stuck beening able to put it sidways in 2 WD was more fun than going slow lock down in 4 Wheel low sliding the truck around in 2 W/D was more fun in my book.
Unlesss you'r are rich and like replacing Transfer cases you better off not using 4W/D only when you have to some times 4X4 is the only way you'r going to get from point A to point B been there done that.
Tires wheels $2000.00, Lift $1500.00, Gear Set With Posi unit$700.00 Now if you have it done LABOR let's say $1500.00 you up to $5700.00 Is it worth it.

Yea my last Truck I was running M/T ATZ 37-14.50-18 and they were around $360.00 Each.
It was 4X4 I end up trading it for this truck to get better MPG I wished I keepedold Truck The 3.7 MPG was not worth trading it for the only plus this truck is a Q-Cab the last one was Standered cab My wife a kid like the room in this truck better but after it is paid off I waiting about 6 months then trading it in for a Hemi or CTD 4X4 Q-Cab I hope they have Employee Pricing when this time comes around + lifetime Warrenty.
I will say If Ford has A better deal at the time I mite go back to Ford No way will I get a Chevy No way.

I have to second Marv02. But 2000$ just for tires? I run 37's and there $800 - $1200, all depending on what brand and who you get 'em from.

Not only is it under powered its a waste of money on such a small truck. Plus, you will be replacing ball joints, wheel bearings and bushings way more often than you would like to. I speak from experience. If you are going to blow the money on lifting your v6 you might as well buy a V8 4x4 to lift and make big. Even lifting a v8 4x2 is a little sketchy. Granted you see this more often than v6's, but I will never do it again! The best thing I ever did was lower my dakota. not as much pressure on joints and it handled like a dream. I'm thinkin bout lowering my 04 ram v6 2 inches.
P.S. I'm not saying lower your truck instead, just dont lift your v6 keep it stock height, you'll be happy you did if you ever decide to sell it.

i don't want to necessarily lift my truck, but i'd like to level it. Probably will stick with stock size tires too. I just like the look of a level truck, so is all that headache you said above the same if I level the front? Or are you only referring to an actual LIFT kit on the truck?
