My dad got the QC because he needed the 8ft bed, if they made the mega with a 8ft bed he would of gotten that.

had the megas been out in '04, i'd have one in the driveway. i love the 8' bed, but i'd make the sacrafice in order to get a bigger cab. yes, kids in car seats take up room....then again so does a truck full of fishing gear, coolers, guns, dead animals. we have a farm...the truck gets used for damn near anything and everything.
those w/ families should get durangos and cherokees...WTF...when you get out of highschool and mom and dad aren't buying your toys...maybe you'll wise up.

Quad Cab.In my case, here's why,in rank order:

1) Value: QC Hemi SLT is the best damn truck that can be had new for about $20K+TTL. '07 Megas last summer seemed to cost at least $5K more. But if I had $5K more to spare, I'd have probably still not opted for the Mega; would have gotten a QC Sport or Laramie instead of a Big Horn.

2) Exterior Aesthetics: I think the Gen 3 Reg cab and QC are the best looking pickups on the road. Mega seems like an afterthought because of thehuge C-pilllar.

3) Form Follows Function: For my purposes, I don't need the extra room in the Mega. Twin 4 year olds fit nicely in the back, with room for Grandma to sit between them. If we need more interior space, we take the Sienna.

I had a SUV for the family, but MY vehicle doubled as my work truck as well. As my business got bigger I needed to get bigger. The back seat of the mega cab not only makes my kids more comfortable on my long trips, but I also have the space to put some of my more sensitive equipment and parts in the back seat when I am working. The megacab to me is a SUV with out the 3rd row and a SMALLER cabin than a SUV to allow for quicker cooling, than say if I bought a suburban.

I went with a Quad after contemplating the Mega. Mega exterior cab looked to "bulky" to me. My only gripe, excuse me, my kids only grip is that on long runs, they wished the back of the rear seat wasn't so verticle. They bring pillows with them anyways so that corrects that problem. I fit back there no problem, so does abundant cargo if we fill up the bed. The folding flat cargo floor is on my Santa's wish list. Other than that, I don't see spending the extra coin where that could be going to all of the mods we're all addicted to. An extra five grand spend on mods and my truck would be even more bad assed than it already is. Quadrophenia!!!!

Ok, let me sit down for this little story. So, about 1 year ago we are still having problems witht the 05 Dodge Grand Caravan that we bought my wife. After countless complaints to Dodge, the dealership, and the owners personal cell phone, my wife decides she has had it with the van. Of course it just so happens I was on the ship for a month and a half and she had a general power of attorney (see also... very risky). So I get an email saying she is having the same electrical problem with the van and has had it. She called the owner again and he said to take it in and he would make sure she was taken care of, don't bother emailing back because she is already on her way!
Oh *&%^!!!! So I jump on the phone and call her, come to find out she is looking for a Grand Cherokee (sp?) or Durango, since we had an 01 a while back and liked it (hehe, until we had engine issues which is how I found this forum originally). She wants to know what I would want in a pickup in case they didn't have what she wanted she would buy me a truck, I could sell my Jeep, and when we got to the mainland(we were in Hawaii at the time) she could get a new vehicle. I told her I would call her back, got on the internet (yes the Navy is getting soft with new technology for you old farts, phones and internet) went to the Dodge site, saved what I wanted in a truck (Ram 2500, Diesel, Mega Cab, 4X4, sun roof, premium stereo and rear seat dvd etc, etc) and emailed it to her.
3 Hours later I get an email to call her, she is signing papers for a truck for me (how sweet right, bought me a truck with my money). I call and she starts telling me about it, it has nothing I wanted except 4X4!! I let her know I am not happy, but she says if I don't like she will keep it and I can get what I want on mainland.
Long story short, I got the truck and love it, she is driving a 03' BMW X5.

I voted for Mega!!! Mostly because I wanted and never got.
