Low Gas Light - Noob here
Hello everybody. Noob here, had a magnum and recently changed to an 07 RAM
In my magnum, the gas light would come at at around 1/8 of tank.
i have let mine now go below 1/8 and the light does not come on
does it come one once it reaches the red section?
thanks

yea it gets pretty low before the light comes on... maybe the tip of the red or lil into it... remember these are much bigger tanks than the one in your magnum
Suppose to come on with about 2 gallons left. Considering you have a 26 gallon, that is 1/13 of a tank. Is it accurate, no, but close. Your overhead should read about 30 DTE depending on your MPG.
yeah, if you have the overhead computer, my gas light comes on at 24mi DTE. Then, according to the owner's manual, when it reaches zero, you can go approx 18 miles, but DON'T PUSH THAT! its very approx, but it is good to know that if you get to zero, you're not actuallygoing to be pushing soon. I try to keep it at at least 1/4 tank.
In the Ram I have went to the station a few times right as my light went on and I would fill up minus 3 gallons.
My Avenger says in the manual the light comes on when there is 3 gallons left.
I remember I would drive over a week with the light on in the Avenger but I don't dare do that in the Ram.

Ummm, 12.5% is 12.5%, whats the difference in moving or not, at least according to your statement you made.

Light dawns on a marble head. I see the part of the statement I missed, the elapsed times it needed to register the fuel levels so I see the difference that I did not see before. Thanks for clarifying the part I missed.
Not a good idea to let the fuel ever get that low. Fuel is what cools a VERY expensive fuel pump. Sometimes, it may be unavoidable, but try to never let it become a habit. I learned the hard way.
