My speedo only goes up to 120MPH... so my top speed had to be figured out by doing the math. So if you dont belive in the math... ohh well.

To date I have only been able to get up to 5400 RPMs in 3rd gear/overdrive.

My tire hight at the time was 32" and the rear gear ratio was 4.56.

4.56 x .75 = 3.42 <=== Overall gear ratio

148MPH x 3.42 x 336 / 32" = 53148

Now we all know the speedo stops at 120MPH... so I was clearly over the 120MPH mark.

I was just under 5500RPMs when I let off the gas this last time, the overdrive lockes at 110MPH. I have done this 4 times to date, this last one being the fastest yet... I personaly dont plan any more "SPEED" test... un eventfull and too many things can go wrong in a hurry.

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

Just shy of 120 coming out of TX on I-10. Trying to run away from an ******* in an EVO. I went past him at about 80-85 and he got mad and decided he wanted to read the label on my hitch. So I ran away, which seemed to make matters worse.

Not exactly on topic but it might be worth a few laughs and it makes me wish my current 05' Hemi Ram had the same muscle:
Being a Ford man many years ago - in 1977 before Ford had anything like a duelie I took a 1974one ton duel wheel cab chassis Ford truck with the 4.10 rear, a granny 4-speed and fabricated my own pickup bed for it. The engine was a built 428 SCJ with a 427 crankshaft, 3 dueces induction with methanol injection and 98 octane.
A friend of mine with the highway patrol and a fellow hotrodder agreed to clock me on an open stretch of West Texas Highway - the run was going fine until both towing mirrors slapped against the side of my doors and the power steering pump belched out all of the fluid from too many rpm on the stock pulley. That immediately had me test my braking ability and also forced me to check my pants - well his radar read 154 mph - there was no doubt some mphleft in the truck, but not in me!
The epitome of stupid and very illegal on both our parts but fun nonetheless!!!

Was about a month after I bought the truck, no traffic on the freeway for some reason, doing about 75-80. Carried the speed through a sweeping left turn. At the exit of the turn it looked like I was going a little fast, so I glanced at the speedo, it indicated something north of 100. So I backed off. Sure didn't feel like I was going fast.

For the aerodynamics of a large brick, these things are pretty stable and comfy at that speed.

I'm no racer, but I get heavy on the pedal sometimes. Probably, 100mph was as much as I've hit. You're right, though, it sure felt more like 75mph...smoo-o-o-ooth. I've got too much invested to try anything higher. I'd either break something or get it impounded.
