I have the rear defrost and it is an option. This option is not available in a slide window as the defrost is strips of heated wire along the lenght of the window. Winters fast approaching and this option is a great one to have.

 

You're correct. I have the SLT Model, which has the sliding back window, and i have the rear defrost. I didn't request it, but it came with the truck..I'm glad i have it though.

 

I have the SLT with heated mirrors but I'm pretty sure the rear window doesn't have the defrost. I'll have to do some checking now, but I am pretty sure.

 

Solid Rear Window-available with defrost or no defrost.
Sliding Rear Window-avaliable with no defrost only.

If you have the defrost button on your HVAC control panel and you have the sliding window, then the defrost is just for the mirrors.

 

There is alot of contradicting answers here. Does the sliding rear window that has defrost have the lines going across it like normal defrost windows do??

 

While I was shopping I never encountered a sliding rear window with defrost from any manufacturer.

 

ok fella's here goes....I have the SLT model which has the rear sliding back windows, that has the "Defrost" option...when you hit defrost, it defrost's the rear window.......I have the "windshield defrost" on the "****" and the "Rear Window defrost" on a button that's directly beneath the AC button....

 

The rear window defrost button only controls your heated mirrors, I have that button, no rear defrost here. Sorry to dissappoint, but if you go to the dodge site and build a truck, you can't select sliding window AND rear defrost...

 

Does your rear window have the lines through it???

 

I guess i have to look into that....because whenever that rear window is fogged up, i hit that button, a yellow light comes on and, SHAZAM- the window clears up.........but hey, maybe i'm wrong..I'll check my manual...and get back to ya....
