I am running Mobil 1 synthetic Extended Performance - rated for 15K or 1 year - will change at 7500 miles.

Also using a Mobil 1 filter. - Once I regear I will be using Mobil 1 synth. in the axles as well.

I would be using Amsoil - but I didn't like the fact that it wasn't as readily available. - That was the determining factor for me.

Hey Chongo, where do you find Mobil 1 Extended Performance? I've checked Wally World and haven't been able to find it. They only carry the regular synthetic.

Question for those of you who use Amsoil. Why can't you purchase this oil at regular outlets like Wally world?

I couldn't find the extended performance at Walmart either - I went to Autozone and they had it.

I've used Mobil 1 oil in all of my cars/trucks for the past 7 years or so. I started using K&N oil filters a few years ago, and put the first one on the Ram last week. I like the K&N since they are easy to remove with a wrench/socket, especially on cars that have hidden/obstructed filter locations. I replace the oil every 3000-3500 miles, which is about 6 months for me since it isn't a daily driver

For transmissions/rear ends, I always use Redline synthetic.
