When trying to start all I hear is "click"
Alright people.
I own a 2004 dodge ram 1500, small V8 quad cab. I just ran out of gas, so Iput a 10L can of gas in the tank. The fuel level indiactor reads well above empty. I can hear the fuel pump kickon (with remote start) or manual start. Nothing happens all Ihear is "click". This happend to me once before just after I put gas in about 2 months ago but after about15 minutes it finally started. Now itsdooing it again. The click sounds like thestarter solenoid, but after that nothing the engine does not crank at all??????I need help fast, my truck is parked in a mall parking lot right now. Someone please give me some info.
Thanks

Like the others said your problem does sound electrical..possible battery (have it load tested). It could also be the solenoid..that would explain why it starts after it sits for 15-20 minutes because the noid has to cool off.
Are dodges fuel pumps in the tank? If they are then running the truck with low gas all the time or running out of gas is bad for the fuel pump...just a matter of time before you fry it. I've also seen fuel filters get clogged when running out of gas...the pump sucks the sludge out of the tank.
