All this talk of 14-15 mpg....I have to chime in...

I get 21-22 empty and 16-17 pulling a 24 ft trailer loaded down with 25 head ofsheep and gear in the mountains--and don't have to shift down out of high gear...

Cummins--all the way...

HA - I get about 330-340 on my 34 gallon tank - thats strictly city driving! - Driving to Alabama in the next few days and it's a relatively flat stretch so I should get pretty decent mpg - like 15-16.

Ok, I got 2 questions... #1 How on earth do you get 15-16MPG with a MegaCab? I'm lucky to get 11 mpg City/Highway Mix driving. I will say though, that I just cleared 4200 Miles, So the 4000 Mile break in, will hopefully follow with better MPG.

#2 What is a "Power Wire" that you have in your description?

I can get 15-16 if I drive the truck, first it needs to be pretty flat - but I use CC at about 65 and when coming to inclines I will use the accel button on the steering wheel and get up to about 70 then when I start to go up the incline I hit the cancel button to coast up and will get back to speed on the way down, I coast to lights - and try not to stop but keep some forward momentum going - when I exit off the highway I usually start coasting about 1/4 mile from the exit - some may think this is ridicules - but I get better mileage and I am not beating up m drivetrain.

I have 3.73 gears and running a 34" MT tire - I will regear to 4.56 and I think anyone with a mega should do so - the truck will weigh over 7K when loaded with 2-3 180-200lb people and that is alot of weight to be moving with a 3.73 rear end - even with 4.10's thats alot.

The "power wire" is a plug that is supposed to fool the computer into thinking the air intake temp is actually 10 or 20 degrees cooler than it actually is - alot of people swear by them - others swear at them - I don't know. But if you go to www.airram.com you will find it.

Please post and let us know what kind of mpg's you get with the regear. I too am thinking of regearing, just because of all the things I've been reading about it. I only have 4300 miles on my truck, So I'll probably wait untill I burn off my tires, then go to 35's and regear.

Do you have any pictures of your engine bay with that XDI installed?

https://dodgeforum.com/m_1065672/tm.htm- here ya go - I am hoping to do the regear by May - I'll definetly post my thoughts and gains. I am really surprised though that noone with a Mega has done a regear yet - or at least that I have heard of.

I can get 19-22 if I'm really carefull. Course that's cause of the MDS (Swear to God I've got it!)

Can't go over 60-65, let off the gas coming down hills, let the truck slow down about 15mph going up hills (depending on grade,) and in town, take it slow and calm. Who cares if the jackass behind you wants to get to that red light faster, what's he gonna do, push you out of the way?

On the pre 97 Fords, the flue relays betwean tanks, or the switch on the dash never really worked that well on the fords I had.

The flue tank on my 06 long box is 35 gallons, slightly more than the two tanks on a F-150, on long higway drives I take two extra 1o gallon jerry cans with me.

Thiers nothing wrong with having a biger tank !!!

The new chassis cabs have two tanks, 56 gallon main and optional 26 gallon auxillary. The 56 gallon is huge, it goes between the framerails behind the rear axle and takes up the whole space!!
