I'm a broken man... I have no relay in the engine compartment that says parking relay, I have two trailer relays nothing that says parking. I tried with the relays removed and jumpering 3 to 4 than 5 nothing. I have 12v on three but when jumping it to 4 or 5 nothing. The front parking lights are on. I tried to jumper a bunch of them, I got my horn to beep, air condition to click but no rear parking lights.
I need help in more ways than this....
Dennis

Default The find the fix

To all, my 97 is fixed. The 97 does not have any relays for the parking lights, just relays for the trailer. I got a hold of the wire diagram and traced everything out for the running lights. Looking at the fuse block in the engine there are two white blocks these are just jumpers. I traced the black/yellow wire and everything was hot. I then went to the rear rail where the wire harness was and pulled it apart. I found a single blk/yel wire turned on the parking lights on, poked it with a meter and there was no voltage. went to the section before the gas tank and poked it there, no power. I cut the wire ran a jumper from the battery to the end going to the lights and they lit. So some where from the fuse block to that section the wire was bad. I ran a separate wire from under the fuse block ( blk/y wire) solder it and ran it along side the harness and soldered it to the other end. Taped everything up and I'm done. Never found where the wire was bad, nothing looked pinched.
Why this problem is not the same as every one else..... what a pain in the azz.
hope this helps some.

Well it might be because yours is a 97 Dodge Dakota and our problems are with an 02 and up Dodge Ram. Anyways, glad to hear you got yours fixed for cheap.
