MoparMan61L, why would you waste money on a fast car when you could just get a fast bike for much cheaper that could blow most cars out of the water. Cars are made for driving places, bikes are made for going fast.

See the argument can me made against cars the same way you are making it against trucks.

MoparMan61L you really can't be serious about everything that you have said. I can assure you that a hemi truck is not slow at all. Out of the hole it sets you back in the seat. Now it may not compare to some sports cars but then again we would betalking about 2 different animals.

whats the point of making any vehicle fast when the speed limit is only 45 or 65 or 70. My little excuse is I can get to the speed limit really fast but apparently you can get a ticket for that too.

Oh gosh this is gonna **** everyone off but I'm gonna say it anyway. Why do people buy Dodge Rams for speed? I mean, I have an 07 Hemi Ram and I think it is the greatest thing on the road but it's not fast and neither is any other full size truck. If I wanted to go fast I would buy a car or compact truck. I had a 2000 model Dakota standard cab with a 4.7L 5 speed and it would walk off and leave my standard cab Hemi Ram like it is sitting still. Maybe I am missing the point.
Is that just your opinion or have you brought both to the track or ran them side by side? To me when you say "walk off like the ram is sitting still" you're saying your dakota is at least a full second faster in the 1320...so your dakota runs a high 13...low 14?

As a matter of fact I have, but it doesn't make any difference when you hit the gas, make all that noise and your truck still doesn't go anywhere.
By the way you talk it seems to me that tempo is all you own...

No, I have never raced the trucks but the Dakota was about a second faster 0-60. The Dakota was also a regular cab 5-speed and weighed a lot less than my Ram does. I have owned 14 Chrysler vehicles, 7 of them Dodge Rams so don't think that I am bashing on them. I have worked for Chrysler for many years and have great faith in their products and service. I am simply comparing my Ram to other vehicles that I drive and have owned. The Ram that I own is just not a vehicle that I would consider doing performance modifications to. A friend of mine from work owns a 2006 Ram 1500 Hemithat he has spent a lot of cash on headers, magnaflow exhaust, superchips and so on. Other than the noise I can't tell any difference between my truck and his and unfortunately he can't either.

I am not trying to argue, what I am trying to say isdrive Rams and various other trucks everyday at work, some with a lot of modifications. None of them have that kick you in the seat of your pants feel that my Dakota or my SRT-4 had stock, they are just too heavy. I am not saying you couldn't hook bumpers and pull either one of those vehicles all over the place with the Ram, It just seems to me if you wanted a Hot Rod you could purchase a vehicle that would require a lot less modification or none at all (Charger R/T) to haul ***.

by the way, I used to eat SRT-10 1500s for lunch in my moms Ford Tempo
Sure you did.
