I HAVE A ? PLEASE HELP
Do a search for Torsion bars on this forum. From what I have read, it should not throw it out of line unless you raise it more than 2"....don't quote me on that because I am a 2x4 driver....
Keys are a better solution than crankin' the torsion bars, but if you just need a touch to clear your new tires, then I'd just crank 'em, it's free. There are posts gallore on it, but basically you need to measure the distance between the top of the tire and the tire well straight above it on both sides. Lift the front to get weight off of the tires. Follow the torsion bars back, you will see the torsion keys back there also. There will be a single bolt that is vertical. Crank it a couple of turns, not much, it doesn't take much at all. Do both sides, then lower the vehicle and remeasure. It may take a time or two of raising it, a crank or two then down to remeasure to have both sides equal, and don't be surprised if you have to crank one side more than the other for the same lift, that's why it's important to lower and remeasure.
Drive it, the front end should have a firmer or tighter feel, this is normal. An alignment is recommended for any adjustment, but if you just have to go up a smidge and you don't notice anything driving it, then you may be able to hold off on the alignment a while.
If you go anywhere over about an inch, then I'd do the alignment right away, if you get upwards of an inch and a half then it'll stiffen the front a lot and I'd probably lower it back down and get the keys.

0522S: Have you decided which way you are going to go.
mfs212: Damn dude, where's the comback? I hate poking fun at someone who doesn't give it right back. Kinda like getting a ticket to a hockey game and having it be the only one all year where a fight doesn't break out...

Thanks for the compliment on the previous post, but you said something here that I can't let go. You sir, are NOT a 2x4 driver, unless you also happen to be a carpenter. You own a 4x2, a 2x4 is a piece of wood...
