RE: opinions on this leveling kit please
Though i was gonna get the Rancho quick lift, for the new adjustable shocks that come as well. And that apparently they would fix my "floaty" feeling in the front end. http://www.gorancho.com/html/product...quicklift.html Found a good deal and was ready to do it then i email rancho for exact info and this was the reply (and my original posted question):
"Thank you for your interest in Rancho suspension products. The Rancho
Quicklift for your Dodge Ram 1500 4WD will provide you about 1.25 inches of
lift. The Quicklift will also allow you to adjust the shocks firmer or
softer than the original shocks. The Quicklift is designed to reuse your
factory original coil springs and mounts. The Quicklift part number for
the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4WD is RS999793. The development tire
used on the Ram 1500 was a 275/65R20. This tire size was used with factory
wheels.

QC with the new IFS front end. Consideribng this for two reasons, one
obviously to lift and level the front end of truck. The second being that i
find the front end very floaty like an 80's cadillac. I take it the shocks
are too soft, as they are not controling the compression and rebound
properly. I have read of others complaining about this as well, and know
of a Dealership TSB for it, but they claim only if the shocks are leaking.
SO, the question being will your new shock along with the oem spring fix my
problem? Have you guys changed the shock's performance compared to stock.
Looking forward to a optimistic response, and will prompty order them up.
Thanks in advance,
Doug in Canada "
SO after that reply, now i'm out. 1 1/2 inches of lift won't be enough i don't think, as everyone else makes a 2 1/2 ? Anybody put these in? And worked out alright - levelness, adjustability....
Now i'm up in the air about which way to go, and would also like to know the question about price differences with most and the readylift one.
I also asked the service manager about putting in rancho quicklift and warrenty, said he didn't care if theygot putin - and mentioned that i'd have a much better shock then the stock crap. He wasn't able to fix the floaty front end and agreed it was there but unless the shocks were leaking then nothing could be done warrenty wise.

Would this void my lifetime warranty? The guy at the dealership said that one of the only things that would void it would be a lift kit. I wonder if this counts...

Broich,
You may want to re-think the Quicklift. I've got a friend with an '06 who purchased them at a local Midas Muffler (of all places) and had them installed there. He loves them, has them adjusted exactly half way and really firmed up his ride. I know they only claim 1.5" and you really need 2" to be level, but on flat ground his truck looks perfectly level to me.
I've only read one post that really bashed them, and it turned out to be a crappy install.
