my graphite 2002 was my test bed for many suspension changes and parts.

it was first dropped in mid 2002 3.5 ft /6.5 rear with a modded djm kit when first released. I had seen pics of their trucks on sites and new I wanted more drop than that so I modded it before even putting it on the truck. The first nite the drop was installed I noticed I wasnt going to like the axle travel in the rear on bumps so I installed my very own custom c-notch the very next nite and never regretted that at all. This was before Mcgaughys even had a 4-6 kit out.

I soon was doing drops for many guys local and from out of state trying to establish my business as a Dodge Suspension Specialist as I had done suspension work of all kinds for almost 20 years in the mechanic field and had worked at a Dodge dealership for some time as well.

My truck even though lowered quite a bit was still used as a truck like hauling race cars or ski boats and even a 28 ft travel trailer on occasion so I made sure my tires had ample clearances above and around so they wouldnt get shredded or cut on a trip and also I had not only the c-notch os it never bottomed out,I also had rear air assist and an on board air compressor added for when the need arose.

The 3.5 6.5 drop didnt suit me for long as Mcgaughys designed their spindles I quickly got a pair and finalized my over 5" in the frt and over 8" in the rear drop while still using 31.5" tall 305/40/22 tires on a 22x9.5 rim with +20mm offset. It wasnt easy as I had to buldge frt fenders (flare if you will) and also relocate items under the hood and make sure any sharp piece of body metal was no where near a tire if ever a large bump occurred. No the inner fenders were non existent then as they couldnt be used anymore.

The rear fender well lips were rolled and smoothed and also the bedsides were flared as well so hat in any case if a rear tire sidewall or tread touched there would be no damage.......the tires fared well with all the prepared ,mods.

Once I figured out that a drop over 4-6 could be accomplished and still be aligned and ride great I put together a kit that worked and ONLY if you used certain sized tires and rims would there be no abnormal mods to do like I had to on mine. I just did what everyone said couldnt be done by tucking a 305/40/22 on a drop over 2-4 with no issues.......lots of work but no issues.

many of you know me already from other forums, and I did not come here to advertise,so dont think of it as that please as I advertise on enough boards as is. I just wanted to finally start posting as I seen some questions I might be able to help with.I have been a member since 02-19-2007

This is a pic of mine and a friends identical 5-8 drops with his not needing fender mods like mine because of his way shorter 265/35/22.
