who here has lowered their ram alot?
ok. ultimate goals are to put some nice 22s on the ram and lower it so that the fender sits right where the wheels are...
kinda like this:
i got this pic from slammed1.com. i love how it sits. the guy here did a 5/8 drop i believe (5"up front and 8" in the back)
i was wondering if anyone has lowered their ram around this height. what parts did you use and where did you get them? i might go with the slammed1.com kit but its VERY expensive. i was just wondering if there are other alternatives than the one the website sponsors.

lowering always looks cool for sure....but i will say i have regreted every vehicle i have lowered...your ride quality suffers
and also lowering your truck that low.you will most likley need to shim the leaf springs......and have some work done to your drive shaft

Bro I'M ALL ABOUT SLAMMING RIDES!!! I would suggest to go with a air ride (air bags supension). You can raise the vehicle if needed or set that bit$h on the ground. All I've seen is a 2/4 drop for the Dodge ram, I'm not sure what it took to drop that ride 5/8, but I will say it probley took just as much money to drop it 5/8 as it would to Bag & Gag. It would probley take the following parts for a 5/8" drop:
Control Arms replaced
Front Springs replaced
Front Shocks replaced
Hanger and Shackle replaced
Rear Leafs replaced
Bed C-Notched (You actually have to cut the bed frame supports and add special pieces of metal for structual support)
You might even have to replace the front sway bar.
This might sound like a lot of work but it's worth it because, when the tree turns green you will leave all of these 4x4s with their leveling kits or 4" Skyjacker lifts in the dust.

im not looking for a lowered truck vs raised truck discussion here. i have no point in having a raised truck here in miami. and i just simply dont like them, a lowered truck is nice and sweet, im not building a lowrider or anything... i DONT want to go airbags, the main reason being is that ive NEVER seen anyone with the same set of airbags for more than 2 years... i just dont believe the quality is there.
my friend does however recieve a 50% discount on airrides website because he went to wyotech. he just ordered a really nice kit for his 67 mustang project.
