Default Gas mileage...

I bought my 08 ram 4x4 2 months ago.I am in Canada and am paying almost 40 bucks a week more than my old ford f-150 on gas?[:-].Is this going to drive me into the poor house or is there anything I can do?I pay aprox $100 a week on gas.Just daily driving.I run a contracting business and do tow a covered wagon (enclosed trailer 6 x 10) some of the time.Basically a 45 in drive with the trailer on return im lookin @ 50 bucks in gas.Any advice?Oh and I aslo bought a k&N air filter that seems to have dropped the RPM'S on the highway a little. Not enough to get excited about...thanks, Ron

Could it be the winter time fuel that is being sold at the pump? I have heard that your milage will go down with this mix. Red

even with intake/exhaust i only saw a 1-2mpg increase. You would be better off to just put that money in the tank. Yo can try a chip with economy tune.

But my mileage has taken a dump lately due to winter blend fuel too.

Man that's not too bad. I live in Alberta and Saturday I went with the misses to Edmonton... about a 2 hour drive one way. I averaged about 135 km/h there and back and averaged 14 mpg... the whole trip took one tank of gas. And I'm not sure how to tell the MDS is on... I know in the Silverados it says 4 cyl mode by your odometer. Oh and my truck is a 05 Ram Q/C 4x4 With the Hemi

I didnt think it was too bad either.

I dotn know whats up with all the mpg threads. Its a truck, it weighs 3 tons, has no aerodynamics, and good power/torque. Are you guys really that surprised at the mileage? Do like hammer and buy a ****ty little metro to save your billfold

WHAT...the truck would be sold by now if it were that bad...My truck is the same as yours but an 08...Does yours have the large gas tank?I think mine is a 130 litre tank.If a 2 hour drive burned up 130 litres that would be a shame..at a buck a litre like it is here in Ontario thats allot of $$$$..Cant wait for the 2010 hybird hemi 4x4..If I can hold off that long..JD1500 love ur signature teabagged 3 times..Good for a laugh.I had no idea what that was up untill about a month ago...
