40/20/40 under seat storage? Not me.
I have been looking on line for a center console for my truck that has storage belowthe seat area of the 20% section. I have the 40-20-40% front 'bench seat'. The current 20% is the type that has the fold down back that tuns into the armrest and storage. I am looking for the storage that is under the seat. I don't know if this is available for the 2006.
Thanks for any help.

RE: Different Center Consoles.
I don't know what happened from the late 02 model on, but I know I have storage underneath my seat. If you sit there, reach between your legs just in front of the bottom cusion should be a handle. at least thats where mine is. It's hard for me to believe that they got rid of that storage spot anyways.

RE: Different Center Consoles.
There's storage under the center seat of my '07. Like esskmo said...it's a handle on the front side of the center seat. It's not much storage, but it's just about as much as there is in the upper storage section (the back of the center seat/arm rest when folded down).
I can't say I've seen anyone take the center out, but I'm pretty sure I've heard of people take them out and replace them with a box for a subwoofer. It has to be possible.
Personally, though, I dig the bench style seat. The center fold down makes for a perfect arm rest, plus...I can cram at least three girls in the front seat next to me if need be...perfect.

[:@]Everyone I know has the below seat storage but not me!
My wife had to pick up my truck due to a serious motorcycle accident between the day I signed for the truck and the day it was delivered. Definately not her fault but they were "nice enough" to go trough the vehicle and show her all the options to include the center storage. I love the fold down arm rest/seat. I do have storage in the upper prtion but not below the seat.
Does anyone know if a previous or later version of the 20% with the below seat storage fits in a 2006?????

RE: Different Center Consoles.
I dont think my 02 has under seat storage. It just has a flap that tucks under to keep it looking clean. Pretty sure I have looked under there and no storage. I have a 2002 RC SB 2wd though, not sure if the 4wd only came with it. But I do have that storage behind my seats, kinda, I have two 12" subs back there so not too much stroage now.

RE: Different Center Consoles.
I understand that with the '08's there are two different versions of the front split bench one with the lower storage and one without. On my SLT the "premium" split bench was an option included with the "preferred equipment group", otherwise the standard split bench is the non lower storage setup. I don't know what Dodge did in years prior to '08, but I expect '07's and '06's at least, were very similiar. The amount of lower storage isn't all that much, but it makes a nice home for my big binoculars.

It holds, legally, a console vault made to fit in the under seat storage only. You can put a wallet, ID, and certain other items of one's interest. It is out of the way as most people breaking in will only check the arm rest storage and the vault is made to fit.

It seems I may not have gotten what I thoughtI should have. It is way too late now but I may be willing to switch one if it is possible.
Thanks for the responses.
