How long do you run your truck between oil changes.

Also list what brand and weight you use, and of course if its synthetic, also the filter.

I run amsoil 5w-30 xl, 25k mile oil, with an amsoil 25k mile filter.
I change about 7500 miles. And like ive said on previous posts, that oil that comes out is cleaner than any conventional oil change at 3000 miles ive ever seen. Next time i change it ill take a pic of the drip. Changed about a month ago so itll be about 3 months till my next change.

And yes this is different than that oil brand poll, just incase Lance had an itchy trigger finger and sent this to the useless post section. Just giving you a hard time Lance.
Now this could be moved to the Off topic to include other trucks and carsbut figured here it will be more accurate to us, plus we wantto keep the oil burners hands off this one.

One last thing, if you are one of those every 3,000 milers, explain yourselves. You know who you are.............

I always forget what miles it is, I just look at the sticker. I am pretty sure its 3k, and I use mobile 1 5w-30, and a penzoil oil filter

 

I just answered one of these on a Jeep forum and you wouldn't believe the abuse I took. Every 3000 miles with full synthetics (everywhere except for the rear diff. for that matter). I don't care if it is overkill, I've been doing it that way since I was 16, and 25 years later, I am not about to change...

Damn hammer youre not driving a ferd. New tranny fluid, powersteering fluid? What about brake fluid? I hope you buy your stuff 55gal drums.

 

No, I didn't mean I change ALL the fluids at 3k, just the oil. My point was I've always used synthetics everywhere. The only thing on my truck that's not using synthetic is the rear diff. and that's because Auburn Gear is adamant about not using synthetic fluid for their LSD. So I have Dino oil there with the additive, but change it at 10k as opposed to the 30k if I had synthetic in there...

I have the 3K habit -- hard to break. I could probably go 6K with no risk at all, but I'll keep with the 3K interval. Most of my driving is short hops. I do let it go 6K if there have been considerable highway miles. That hasn't happened in a while.
