Wasn't a huge difference, but it helped a little. I have the Super 40 series, SIDO.

I have the 50HD and voted yes, but with some reservations. They are no doubt better than stock butas far as flow and HP gains there are better choices out there. The flowmasters give up a lot in the flow department for better sound...

i voted yes. i have a 40 series and it came with the truck when i bought it. it does sound nice, all it is is sound though, it only a muffler which is fine with me. but say i was going to get a new system...what would be my best bet for nice sound and flow? what would i do exactly? cut out the y pipe and take out the resonators and have dual in and dual out? or what? im not very knowledgeable about exhaust

i'm pretty much like everybody else 40 si/do not much flow obviously.

mmstar: the aero turbine mufflers are good and loud, if not get a 50 flow dual in dual out and eliminate the Y or get true dual with 40's and it'll still hold a little back pressure for your torque

A FLOWMASTER alone will not improve your MPG or HP.A full on CAT BACK system possibly will show some improvements. If you dont increase the size of tubing of the exhaust the engine still has to push the exhaust through the 2.5 (3' for hemi's) tubing. The flowmaster are full of walls and seems pretty restrictive in my POV and all they really generate is the sound. But like said this is only my opinion. We all think different.

the tubing size on my 06 4.7 is 3 inch. 3 inch in dual 2.5 out. a big restriction on the stock exhaust is the y-pipe. i had the shop make a new one.

hey i have a 50 series but i want it to be louder. i could jsut dump the muffler or take it out but i was thinking bout buying a 40 series. is it worth it? they arent very much and i can replace it myself cuz i put this one on. i jus wana know if it will help or hurt me or change nothin but the sound?
