AL, did you change your pic?

You may have a couple of upgrades, but what has HE got for upgrades??
I would love to hear you beat him at the track.
BUT.....
1. What gears do you have? If he has the tow package w/4.30 and you have something like I do (3.73), I'd be concerned.
2. The40 series Flowmasters will hold you back according to a Flow Tech I spoke to before I got mine. They only recommend the HD series for Hemi's. He claimed the other series do not produce the same power/torque as the HDs.
3. Practice your reaction times. You may just need the Holeshot Win.

Yes I did.
I finally found my camera after my kids borrowed it.
Something wrong?

The nicest thing I can say here is: you sure are gullible.
That's hardly proof of anything. It's not even a valid test of traction; the first truck to get over-anxious and spin the tires will then be pulled by the non-spinning truck. I could hold the brakes, wait for you to spin, and then pull you like a toy in a truck with half the power.
Toyota canceled the plans for a turbo diesel / one ton version of the truck months ago.
Bwa ha ha! A stock Beetle running low 8s in the 1/8th, not to mention 81 mph! It just isn't going to happen in a front wheel drive, 180 horsepower car that weighs 3000 lbs. If your claimed 1/8th mile was true, the average New Beetle would run low 13s in the quarter at 102+ mph instead of its magazine-tested 15.0 @ 90 mph (equates to maybe 9.5 @ 75 in the 1/8th) There's quite a difference here. Even with 300hp they wouldn't have traction needed for low 8s.

The tundra will smoke em, there's a youtube video of a tundra and ram with a tow strap, the rams tires squealed as the tundra just kept moving forward.

Oh yeah toyo is coming out with a light duty diesel mid 2010, powerplant will be made by a company they own called hino. May be too late to buy their stock.

I remember taking my moms new 5spd turbo bug up to an 1/8 mile track, it was near the fla ga border so lots of necks with their upgraded hemis. I raced 3 of em, pissed one off cause while we were still in line I made the ol does that thing got a hemi. I beat all 3 hemis hands down, 81mph low 8 seconds.

well thanks fo bein nice massa boss, hope i didnt offend with the whole redneck georgia deal.
btw light duty diesel, how does that imply 1 ton?? its going to still be in a half ton line, read before you type.
and yes turbo 5 speed bug hauled *** and put the hemis to shame, until some rice burner in his civic (that probably had as much in the way of mods as the price of the POS) smoked me.
as for the tundra vs ram thing, wheres your proof on why the ram will win? if your gonna say someones blowing smoke up your *** you generally need something to confirm what youre saying, at least thats what logic would say.
heres my proof
tundras got 381 HP, 401 ft/lbs 10.2:1 compression ratio
specs on 07 hemi (didnt want to spend time looking for 05) 335 hp, 375 ft/lbs, 9.6:1
now i know you picking a tundra over a ram would be just as hard for you to pick a sam adams instead of your busch beer, but come on now, we got to face the facts.
btw im impressed that a neck from a city with less than 20,000 people in it, and a avg household income of 44k would drive a nice truck, hope its not your house or do ya tow that Lol. just messing with ya John M
one last thing, tundras auto lsd must be better than our anti spin seeing that only one tire on the dodge started cookin.
like someone said a few posts up, take pride in your dodge, but dont be stupid... something along those lines.

Toytoa---Unleashing this powertrain down the drag strip, we recorded a stunning 0-60-mph time of 6.3 seconds, while the quarter-mile came up in 14.8 seconds at 93.7 mph. Our best efforts came with the traction control switched off, a move that activates Auto limited-slip differential, a brake-based, electronic-limited-slip function. Mind you, this is a Double Cab 4x4 truck that weighs 5,637 pounds.
http://www.trucktrend.com/oftheyear/..._ram_1500.html
Dodge---With 345 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque channeled through a seamless five-speed automatic, the Ram delivered strong, immediate power as well as impressive numbers--0 to 60 in 8.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 16.5 at 83.8 mph. The 2006 Ram is the undoubtedly the best Ram ever...
oh and by the way, the above facts where what i was talking about when i said you should have some sort of evidence or proof to back up what you say when you call someone out.
thanks for reading

You are still comparing stock to stock, the tundra will beat a stock hemi hands down. You are also comparing an 07' hemi with an 05'. From 06' on up the hemi in the ram has lost power because of the mds. They even claim that in all of the figures that dodge posts for the newer trucks, it drop from 345 - 335 and the torque dropped quite a bit too.
Also if you have ever driven a tundra you would also know that they suck 0-40, 40-60 is where their power comes into play, dodge on the other hand has a good 0-40, but lacks in the 40-60 range which is why they will get beat stock to stock. You add in some minor modifications to the hemi and you eliminate that 40-60 problem. Add in a tuner to fine tune the shift points and the tundras are just another thing to pass by.

I'm the one who needs evidence? What did I say that was wrong? I never said the Tundra didn't make more power than the Dodge. I just said that if one truck can drag another in a pull contest, it means nothing. I can drag a Tundra with a Tacoma if I trick the Tundra driver into losing traction first -- that's a fact. You don't know the specifics of that "test" - whether either truck was 4x4, did the Dodge even have an LSD, etc. I never said the Tundra wasn't faster either. Go back and read what I said - we'll wait.
My other car is a Subaru Legacy GT which will easily outrun 99% of the Rams out there. I've been racing turbo imports for over 16 years so I know a little bit about how they work.
Obviously my location bothers you a bit. I'm sorry you don't realize that just because I'm in Georgia it doesn't mean I have an outhouse or that I married my cousin while on welfare. I guess I scraped together the $30k to buy the Subaru. If I had wanted a Tundra it'd be in my driveway but speed isn't the only thing I want in a truck. I can't stand the Tundra's interior and wouldn't take one if you gave it to me. While I'm at it, I also hate any "generic" beer -- I prefer Sam Adam's Black Lager, Honey Porter, or Cherry Wheat, or maybe Killian's Irish Red.
If I had the chance I'd race them. Why? Because it's just a race. It doesn't cause any harm if I lose. I'll probably have my Ram at the 1/4 mile track this weekend to get some timeslips. I want to see what the mods have improved. If there's a Tundra there I'll be sure to race him just for you. Win or lose, I'll still have fun.
I guess afterwards I'm supposed to go home to my trailer park where I'll watch a black and white TV with rabbit ears, kick my dog, beat my wife, and fall asleep watching the Farm Report. <Uncle Jed> Wheeee doggy!
I'll bet the fact that I own a computer store would blow your mind!
