most amps switch automatically, atleast my alpine did.

ok so i put my alpine mrp-m500 amp in powering a mtx 4500 sub. all i can say is wow. Im getting some window flex now. you can hear the bass from half a block away and know what songs playing with 1 12" sub that is a POS.I love this thing, too bad i started burning out the voice coils on the sub. but what ever you do dont waste your money on a cheap amp. when i doubt buy alpine, they are one of the best.

Just to give you an idea for placement of the subs, I made a custom fiberglass box, that angles back with the lean on the seat, they arnt shallow subwoofers, regular size.
