I'm new here aswell, but I'll give it a shot.
The 2007 & 2008 Dodge Ram Tail Light Wiring is different. The 2007-2008 Dodge Ram has two connectors instead of 1 like the 2003-2006. It will work, but will require some wiring & a couple of clips.
Check out http://www.gorecon.com/download_file.php?download_key=9It has a walkthrough of converting an '07 to '05, you'd just need to do it in reverse & find the part# for '07 pigtails.
I prefer the flush look of your '05 to my '07 "afterburner" lights, but to each his own.

a lot of people dont like the 07 tail lights, i didnt before but now i kinda like them. thats the perfect site fordoing what your trying to do. that recon link. just splice the new pigtails into your wiring. thats it. the only thing i like about the 02-06 tail lights its that theres seperate lights for the turn signla and the brake, as where the 07-08 uses both for 1 light.
