I've only had my truck for a month now and some cowardly bastard hit it in a parkinglot yesterday and took off[:'(]. I was beyond pissed off.

My nice chrome rear bumper is ruined and there is some damage to the lower part of the box on the passenger side. I have a $500 deductible and may try to foot the bill myself instead of filing a claim. I'm considering replacing the bumper with a roll pan. Does anyone have any experience with roll pans? I'm wondering if this is really a good way to. I'd appreciate any opinions. Heres the one I am looking at:

my .02 cents: Do you have a tow package? do you tow? Are you looking to make your truck "your own" or are you considering this due to the damage? Its not a bad look and if it fits the vision you had for your truck, run with it! Take it to your ins agent after the install and let em see you modified your rig. I do that with each change i make on my truck as my ins covers all aftermarket mods i make. I hope yours does as well. Good luck and sorry about your truck man.

 

I have a roll pan and love they way it looks. The one I have is made by FBI....If you have a factory hitch it will have to be removed, hidden hitch make one for use with a roll pan. Also with a roll pan if you get hit in the a$$ again chances arethere is going to be more damage than there would be if you had a bumper.

That really sucks, a guy that I know, his wife bought a 2008 Infiniti G37 In September of last year and In December, and someone took a wire hanger, bent it up, and tried to steal it. They were unsuccessful, but they scratched the **** out of the leather door panels on both doors. The price for new door panels was $1800. That bumper looks like a good idea.

 

I thought about getting a roll pan when I bought the truck, but decided not to bother yet since I had so many other things I wanted to get for the truck first. Everythings just so expensive lol. I hadn't done much reserach on roll pans, so I was mainly wondering if they are made well and would hold up in the long run. I do want to customize my truck and think it would look good on there.

I will be adding a hitch at some point for some limited towing (I will be buying a dump trailer for work soon and I have a jet ski that will need towing this summer).

BTW, I LOVE your hood and at some point I want to do the same thing to mine.

When I lived in Colorado I had a 2001 Dodge Intrepid that someone went nuts with what looks like a screw driver trying to pry the windows down and the doors open. They were never able to get in or steal the car, but they killed all four doors. At the time, I had wished they did steal it. It would have been easier and nicer to just get a new car out of the deal.
