Default Differential cover for people who tow

I was just browsing and saw this. Even has a built in Temp gauge port.
O-ring seal anda dipstick. $270 is a little high, but if you have the cash it may be a decent investment.

Sorry for the stupid question, but what are the main benefits of this?

2 more potentially ignorant questions:

So clutch packs aren't covered by the lifetime powertrain warranty? And will the cover potentially void my warranty?

It would void the warranty of the cover you remove.

I agree tho, i prolly wouldnt buy it for my truck. I tow maybe 10 times a year. But my dads 2500....he tows a 8000lb camper all over all year. I woulddo it for him.

The clutch packs should be covered by warranty. It sholdn't void your warranty unless you get some jerk dealer. What you get with this cover (and others like it) is additional cooling and additional oil capacity, which can make the clutch packs last longer. That may not be any big deal, knowing that the dealership will fix it for free, but if you're in a situation where you need it and it goes out, then knowing the dealership will fix it is not much help getting you out of the situation you're in! It's just extra factor of safety.

Does the o-ring seal hold oil well, or did you also put RTV around it?

I'd order me one, but I hate the look of the "Mag-Hytec" logo.
