does it sound like an exhaust leak? Maybe small enough when cold it leaks but when it warms up the metal expands and goes away. I don't know but had a truck that did it one time.

you know what, im glad you said that man. i have an exhaust leak on the striaght pipe where i cut out the cat...the 3rd last one but thats under the cab and this is definatly close to the engine compartment, however when i checked underneath....it seems to be coming from the driver side more so than the passenger. so maybe its one of the upper cats, or the mani fold on the driver side....ill inspect the exhaust tomorrow in daylight and when the pipes are cool.

maybe if i have time ill take a video of it so you guys can hear it tomorrow morning.

Does the Hemi engine have roller rockers? I had a car with roller rockers and it tapped bad after a cold start. Figured it was one of the rockers tapping when it first starts up. after a few minutes and enough time for some oil to make it's way up to the rockers it would stop. dunno if that helps.
