Just curious MPG in your 4.7l
I have a 2003 Ram 1500 that averages 18-18.5 mpg (on the overhead computer). I drive 52 miles round trip to work with 75% of that being highway. The truck has a flowmaster exhaust (gained 1.5 MPG), and a I run synthetic (gained 1.0 MPG)
Good luck!

You only get 11.2 mpg on pump gas? That's on par with our company's 3/4 ton Chevy's with the 6.0L! That's bad gas mileage!

Have driven 2000 miles in the first ten days, so I've had a chance to try out different conditions.
Overhead display seems to read 0.5-1.0 mpg higher than actual. The speedometer is accureate to within 1mph according to my GPS with stock 33" tires (275-60-20). Tried a flat, 20-mile stretch in 6th gear (no wind) with the cruise set at 55mph...overhead said 18.9mpg, so I was getting 18-18.5 actual mpg.
Is the stock exhaust so restrictive that a muffler or catback upgrade can yield 1+mpg increase?
