This just in...
The overall average for our truck for it's 2500 mile life is now at 15.8 mpg! At least according to the overhead readout.
In what conditions? what is the test truck? what mods? what size tires?

Where did you get the "average" from? everyone's posts?

That's the average for "our" (my wife and I) truck, for the 2500 miles it has been ours, brand new from the factory, with zero mods, just driven around town. 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab with 4.7L 310hp v8 and auto trans, 3.92 rear axle ratio, with the factory P275/60R20 tires on Dodge 20x9 aluminum wheels. The average is from the overhead readout, which has never been reset since new.

Man, I wish I was getting 18's like a lot of you. I live in Alexandria, VA which is basically just a suburb of D.C. and I get 10-11 mpg. I only drive 4 miles each way to work, but I do it about 5 times a day. I'm in the military so I go in for PT, go home, go into work, go home for lunch, go back to work, go home for the day.

I konw I could bring my lunch to work, I'm not complaining about how fast my gas disappears, just wish I had better mpg.

Only 4 miles to work? Your truck isn't ever warm enough to open the thermostat, much less get decent gas mileage. You would be hard pressed to get 20 mpg out of a Civic with only 4 miles to work.

My truck must have issues. I only get 12 mpg highway, with a JET chip in. I get to about 45 mph and my last gear sets in. When I push on the accelerator, I go nowhere until I puch enough for the overdrive to kick in.
