ok, im in san diego, california. there is a great dealer here right by my house. heres the website: http://johnhine.com/
great service and very, very professional. but an airplane ticket would cost much less to go to los angeles. lol. and yes, you would be mad to race a brand new truck! lol. you can buy a nicely equipped ram for around $25,000. maybe even less. hopefully some other chime in on this thread with their prices. and dont forget, dodge has about $10,000 in rebates from the sticker price after chrysler ($8,000) and dealer ($2-3,000) rebates.

towing, the diesel will beat the hemi hands down. Better mileage under towing as well. The big thing is, if your falcon pulls it that well, a cummins wont even notice the trailer. Towing ulimate is the cummins, no other brand can touch its durablilty or service life. You should consider with it the cost difference and the difference in fuel prices also understanding that the hemi prefers 89 octane, which can get pricy. hope that helps m8.
No, today's diesel pickups are FAR from slugs. They will flat out haul ***, especially if you get a programmer and some other minor mods. If you plan to tow then definately get a diesel for the extra gas mileage. I don't know how it is over there, but diesel is only about 50 cents a gallon more than regular gasoline, and the extra gas mileage is more than enough to offset the added cost. The only downside is that a diesel is a $6,000 option, and you can only get it in a 2500 or larger, which starts out at around $4,000 more than a 1500, so you are $10,000 more expensive right away. As far as trim levels go, the ST is the base model, which would be pretty hard to live with every day. The SLT is the midlevel trim, which has more comfort and convenience features. The Laramie is the top of the line luxury edition, with leather and all that fancy junk that does not belong in a truck (in my opinion, anyway.)
Here's where I bought mine: http://www.davesmithmotors.com They pretty much guarantee the lowest price in the country on New trucks and great prices on used ones. I paid $10,000 below NADA for mine. And Duke, the Sport package is a supplement package. ie, mine is a Laramie Sport.
Hmmm, I guess I gotta drive both and see which one is more for me. Diesel is actually cheaper than petrol here, at about $1.46 a litre. Excuse my maths, but I think theres 4 litres to the gallon, so thats about $6 a gallon. You can see why there arent many of these on the roads over here! Petrol is almost $2 per litre, so its even more painfull.
Yeah, I will be looking for a used truck unfortunately,a s I cant afford/justify the costs for a new one.
So to get a diesel, I have to get the 2500 or bigger? What is the difference in looks etc? Is there an easy link that I can look at that shows the difference? (becuase its all about how it looks!

I wish diesel was cheaper than gas here. If that was the case, I would have definately bought a diesel. The trucks look identical, except for the 8 lug wheels and slightly higher stance on the 2500. Try http://www.dodge.com/en/ I don't know if it will take you to the US site from your country, but it may.
OK, starting to make sense now. I had a look at the dodge site, but they only have the current shape, not the older version that Im interested in. Any other suggestions on places to look?
