Means it was wrecked beyond the point that the insurance company found it to be worth. i.e. it was cheaper for them to give the owner a check for the value of the truck than to repair it. It could have been in a real bad accident, or flood damaged, etc. Unless you can pay for it outright (most banks will not finance a salvage title) and are in the mood for a whole lot of repairs, I would stay clear of salvage titles.

Just found a cheap ram on Craigslist (shame its yellow) but it has a "salvage title" . Can someone fill me in what that means??
Crashed, stolen, flood damage whatever it's rarely worth the possible pain it can cause you.

Plans have changed slightly, now am going to pick up a Ram for a freind as well. he tows a 5th wheeler that he imported from the states a while back, but his current ram is a bit underpowered for it. He needs to upgrade to a diesel, has anyone got any recomendations on whch one to get? He is looking to spend around 35k I beleive.

You can get a new one for that, if you arnt looking for top of the line...35k will get you a dually quad cab with the CTD, maybe not with leather haha but thatll pull his house if he wanted to...I'm not sure which incentives carry on if you ship it out of the country, but im sure there are also alot of used 2500's or 3500's for around 25-30K

When I was looking at trucks I almost bought a new 2500 CTD QC SLT. The price including tax was $26k. Every Sunday in the paper there is a new deal sometimes even on Diesels. Just have to be here money in hand. If I were you guys I would buy a new one. PM me if you want some help.

That will work better for you guys. The 09s will be out so the new 08s will be a lot less. Winter is coming so I guess you don't need new trucks for your toys right now. Will check and see when the car shows end.

Where are you in NZ. I looked on Google Earth and I didn't realize that Auckland was so far North. Maybe it gets cold in Invercargill. Anyway looks like a beautiful place to live.

Yeah, its pretty good. We always complain about things, government, crime etc, but on the whole, theres nowhere better that I have found to live! I live inAuckland, doesnt get THAT cold, about 0 degrees overnight in winter, and about 28-35 at its warmest in summer. You can wear shorts all year round if youre keen! But Invercargill gets bloody cold, snow etc and all that stuff in winter. But still nice in summer.
