Gave the truck new eyes today
Put these new halos in this evening. Turned out OK. Sure hope they last.

RE: Gave the truck new eyes today
I'm interested in how you like the light (on the road), sort of a before-and-after opinion. If it's a noticable improvement I may be hitting ebay for a set.
My biggest peeve of these trucks is their single bulb for low & high beam when the headlight assembly is big enough to house half a dozen bulbs. You'd think that automakers would have learned that a separate low & high are the way to go -- my 92 GMC truck had it, as have other cars since the 60s.

yeah I've heard from a few people its not all that bright. I run the brightest silverstars for my headlights and fogs. What's funny is when people flash me thinking I have my bright on, I'll then make sure to flash them bright, just to let them know it could have been brighter. I'm still dragging *** on some kc long range, most off road lights are around 100-200,000 candle power, the ones I want are 380,000 candlepower. Get two of those and then a pencil beam in the middle.

The light transmission is pretty good. The low beams provide very goodshoulder-to-shoulder coverage. The high beams shoot down the road pretty well, too. I'll take her out tonight and try to get some shots of the coverage. Here are a couple of shots I took this morning.

ya theyre fun to wire up! i paid $150 for mine. im thinking about putting HIDs behind the projector, but i heard it will burn the lens, but im gonna see what people say about that.
eric, what are the brand of the 380,000 candle watt lights....i want to replace my PIAA lights on my bull bar with those. i put silverstars in the bull bar....well all of my lights actually, but i want a brighter bull bar.

That's the first time I've seen those exact lights -- it's an interesting setup. I considered doing the same thing to the stock housings; keep the existing reflector for high beam and add a projector on the outside (in place of the blinker) for low beam. Maybe when I finish my current round of mods on my car I'll put some time into the truck.
