Default for those who have chrome door handles

If you used the covers that go over them, would you say they could be painted? I really want black chrome door handles to match my wheels, exhaust, and grille but I cant find them anywhere and gave up looking. Could you paint the covers black chrome? Would it turn out? Any input would help!

I have the Putco covers and they look great. The quality of the chrome seems very good. I don`t see why they couldn`t be painted with the same process as chrome wheels.

i would think it could be done. dont think about nightshade on chrome though because i tried it and it doesnt work at all! but i know you can get your wheels blackchromed, and i believe its just a certain powdercoat. i think it would be pricey, but i don see why they couldnt do it to a wheel and not a door handle cover. let me know how it goes because i was thinking about black-chroming my wheels unless its too expensive, then im just gonna get ne rims.

I suppose if Putco (or another manufacturer, for that matter) would sell you a set of metal handles BEFORE they got plated, you could have them black chrome plated locally yourself...

Dupli-color makes a product called Metalcast. You need the adhesion promoter and then the color of your choice.
