Brand new member and first post! Need a lot of advice on what to do with my 08 Ram Hemi. Cold Air? What brand?

Superchips? Exhaust? On the exhaust side, what would be a reletively low costmod (parts manager salary). With the exhaust, what about the sound with the MDS?

I know that's a lot of questions, but anxious to get started. I've never modified any of my other Dodge trucks.

Personally for exhaust i slapped on a 3in in and dual 2.5in outlet muffler with 2 tails out the back around the hitch. Sounds ok and really with the MDS its a hair bit funky but overall im good with it. As for a CAI i personally ran with a mopar unit. Ill get it out before some one else does...where are the pics of your rig?

Has anyone used the Exhaust kit from MOPAR yet? It is a little pricy, but is stainless and will never rust.

 

Mine wont rust either, the muffler is stainless and the pipe ran is aluminized. Looked like the factory stuff before the muffler was as well. Guess we'll see about that.

 

yea...get an exhaust...top of line.

doesn't do much for performance, but makes the truck a truck imo.

i couldn't tell ya much about superchips and stuff, as i have the 3.7 in mah truck.

as for intake, don't get anything to ridiculous. apparently, the drop in k&n's do just as much as the expensive full intake systems. get your self a cheap ebay cold air intake or something, just to open up some needed space in the engine compartment.

getting a superchips really wakes the truck up. faster shifts, throttle response, marginal increase in power. you can get the first two without spending any more on gas by just putting it in economy mode and pumping regular gas.

magnaflow sounds amazing with the hemi. look up madhatter on ebay (seller). they have decent cheap kits (though they WILL RUST EVENTUALLY).

ebay CAI with a K&N cone at the end seems to be a smart+economic move.

I eventually wanna get Magnaflow true duals on mine. I've also heard theTrueflow XDI intakes work really well with a Hemi. I don't know when I'll get any of it though. I'm starting college at the end of the summer and all my money is getting put up right now.

 

The aluminized will rust, it just takes about 5 years.
