Its normal for the spindles to hit your lower control arm. If you look at your spindle is designed in that area to bump. Its your turn limits. Your rub, looks worse though. I have an 05 so possibly different on the 06 but yours looks like its missing the control arm and going up on top of it somehow. Turn your wheel all the way and crawl up under there and check out how its contacting. A spacer leveling kit wouldnt alter this from stock. Your spindle and lower control arm are still in same spot respective to each other.

 

It does still hit the lower control arm. It is not going above the top part of the spindle. From what I can tell the lift changes the angle at which the control arm meets the Spindle though. I guess as long as it is ok for it to hit it should be fine. My rub looked the same as the stock 06 on the lot. The pics may look worse than it is. Its just a little rubbing. I dont hear anything when driving or turning.

 

Well I am still fighting this thing. Had it in to the dealer again and they say that the lift in the front is causing the wheel shake! I called TGC and they said the lift will not cause that to happen, that there must be something else loose. The dealer replaced both tie-rod ends and balanced the tires and alignment. Still bad shake anywhere from 55-70mph. Anybody with a leveling kit have problems? I really like how the truck looks leveled out, but dont like how its riding!

 

mine rubs a little too. It is a 2.5" but I have had no problems with it shaking.

 

I had a similar problem on my 05. I ended up turning the torsion bars down to stock due to rubbing, ball joing cover split and other problems. I know it's the suspension is different on an 06 but it might be the same problem.

Here is a statement from ReadyLift:
The steering wobble or vibration has to do with the steering/ball joint equipment.
Dodge had released TSBs on this problem - Daimler Technical Service Bulletin # 22-005-06. This affects 1994-2008 Dodge Ram 1500MC/2500/3500 4x4's.
In either case, it has become apparent that raising or lifting the front of the Dodge Ram pickup may amplify these existing OEM problems. In some cases the symptoms exist on non-modified stock vehicles.

It is ReadyLift Suspension's position that if you have installed a 66-1090 or 66-1020 kit onto your Dodge Ram truck and experience either of the two symptoms mentioned, IMMEDIATELY HAVE THE LEVELING KIT REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE!

 

Is that service bulletin for something that is wrong from the factory? Should I bring it to the dealer and tell them I want the ball joints replaced, to see if thats the problem. It is still under warrenty so I will mabey see about that. I really want to keep the leveling kit. I know there are guys on here that run them with no problems! Thanks for the input

 

Those rubs are on the steering stops. It's fine. When I put on my 2.5" leveling kit I had a shake and loose feeling as well. Took it to get aligned and had two bad outer tierods. The dealer replaced them and it has been fine since.

 

I dont have a leveling kit yet, but when i put my new tires on (size is in the sig), I also experienced a little "steering wheel" shake. I looked under it this weekend and the upper control arm is rubbing on both front tires (putting a nasty looking groove on the front tires). So, it looks like the company that told me the tires would fit will be buying me a new set of 4.

 

Mine 06 has all the same spots, before i put a level on it.
The 3rd, and 4th pictures down in you gallery, look to me like thats were the steering stops at full lock, that is what i thought when i first seen them on mine as well.

Put some paint on each of the makes on both sides, dont let it dry.
dont drive it anywhere, But turn your steering lock to lock a couple times and
see if the paint is transfered..

 

yeah I am not so much concerned with the rubbing as I believe it is just where it hits when the wheel is cranked all the way. I cannot figure out the steering shake. I had it into the dealer 4 times and they replaced both outer tie rod ends and said that the leveling kit was causing the shaking! Could it be ball joints? can I check this easily? I told the dealer to look at the ball joints, and they said they did and they were fine!
