Default 06 Leveling kit rubbing?!?!

I went under my truck to change the Diff Fluid and saw this on the lower control arms and the spindle. It looks like its hitting obviously. Anybody run into this? The kit is from TGC

its only the 2.5" from Top Gun Customs. They claim that nothing changes in ride and everything, but I have a bad shake in my wheel when cruising. It seems like the steering is "loose" I had the outer tie-rods replaced under warrenty, but it still is like that. Wondering if anybody else has had the rubbing or the wheel shake? (steering wheel)
Thanks

what size tires are u running....I had mine on stock 20's for 60K or so then when i went to bigger tires then I got the shake...it was my upper ball joints...IMO I would say that the 2.5" is too much lift for stock sized tires....when I changed them out one was siezed up and the other was loose as a goose.

I have stock tires with the 20" wheels. I just got back from the dealership. They looked at it and balanced the tires. There is still a shimmy in the wheel though. They said its probably a tire issue. I am not convinced. I think its a ball joing issue or mabey a steering rack issue. I think my rack is leaking a little. The fluid was a tiny low and there is fluid of some sort on the boot. the ony thing is its the boot that is right under the oil filter so it may have been from when the dealer I bought it from changed the oil. Not sure? What are the signs of your steering rack going out?

Oh yeah While I was at the dealership I looked at another 06 with everything stock. and it had rub marks in the same spots. I think that might just be how they are? Any body else with an 06 or newer see this rubbing?

a steering rack? i just got a new one on tuesday! hope you have warranty or be ready to fork out some cash. i got discounts out the *** for working at the shop and it still cost me close to $500! when mine went out, the boot was full of fluid and it was just puring out. the power steering pump was whining bad because of no fluid, and it wouldnt turn for ****! as far as premature signs, maybe the steering feels more "loose" my sterring is much tighter now that i have the new rack, but im not sure what other signs would be. it was a completly unexpected occurance!

there has been talk about the 2.5 being way to much for the leveling kit and a 2.0 kit will do just fine. and this info came from owners who have factory rims/tires and went from the 2.5 down to the 2.0

wanted to let you know you aren't the only one with this rubbing issue and you might want to consider lowering to the 2.0 kit

good Idea. Would that make a difference. The stock one at the dealer had the exact same rub marks as mine. If you turn the wheels all the way you can see where it hits. Mabey I will look into the 2". As far as the steering goes it does feel loose. I do have warrenty. I had them look a few times. I cleaned up the boot below the oil filter and am going to see if it is leaking or not. I'll keep posting when I find out. I hope it is leaking, so I can get a new rack for free! I will have to call TGC about the kit!
