I don't know to much about it either, but had pretty much the same requirements as you did. I took it to a guy near me, and he suggested either JL or Rockford Fosgate? I think that's the name. I went with the JL. Real good stuff, and sounds amazing. I have a 10" sub under the rear passanger seat in a stealth box. The amp also goes back there. JL's in all 4 doors, and a Pioneer head unit. Plays directly from my iPod (none of that FM transmitter stuff). Unbelievable sound and bass. A pickup isn't alot of area on teh inside, so you don't need that many subs (or that big for that matter). 90% of the time, I have my sub at 0, when it can go up to +6 (i don't think i've ever had it there). At +2 I can put change/cell phone on my center console and it will vibrate off. Definately would recommend my setup to anyone.

JL's are pretty good.as with anything it all comes down to opinion really.im a big alpine man.all my stuff is alpine and i love it.hits hard.but you could get the best subs in the world but it wont be worth anything unless you get the right powered amp with them.me(bein an alpine guy) would prob recommend getting alpine type r's (10inch) with an alpine 1000 watt amp.that would be way more than loud enough.i ordered all my stuff off of ebay and took it to getinstalled.again alpine is good, jl is good, mtx is decent. wait and see what other ppl say

I had an Eclipse head unit in my previous car, until it was stolen. I cannot remember the model number, but it had no internal amp. It was just a radio and CD player. I ran the signal through an Eclipse 2101 equalizer, hooked it up to an Alpine V12 amp and ran it to Boston Acoustic components in the front doors and three way speakers in the back doors. Sounded awesome. I got all this stuff in about '99 or '00. I have no problem recommending the high end Eclipse units. I loved mine. I just hope the anti-theft system built in kept the thief from being able to use it and the eq (the Eclipse units have what's called a source CD, where if the power is disconnected from the unit, that CD needs to be put into the unit for it to work again - you can choose any cd from your collection).

so far i kept the stock head unit bc i dont want people breaking in my truck lol. but i put two 10" memphis subs and a rockford amp, with a rockford capacitor, and it sounds good and my lights dont dim anymore with the cap. but i just got the wiring kit and a line converter and hooked the line converter into the back door speaker, and ran the remote wire from the cig lighter that shuts off when u turn off the truck, and ran the amp under the pass. side seat bc it would over heat under the back one and shut off, but now i have no problems with it at all just had to put the jack for changing the tire under the drivers side seat. sounds good and no one knows its there untill they hear it lol.
