4 10 gears??

RE: 4 10 gears??
The 3.92 seems to work well with the 20" tires and 5 speed auto behind the Hemi in my 08. My 01 Ford had the 5.4L with 17" tires that were 31.7" tall and 3.55 gears. Not the best set-up for towing 7500lbs.
So far, the 3.92 gears seem to be about right for me, and if the clips come out? That would be covered under the lifetime powertrain warranty, so I'm not too worried.

Well Guys those charts are great when you use them correctly.
In order to use those charts you must first find your OVERALL GEAR RATIO.
REAR GEAR x OVERDRIVE GEAR = OVERALL GEAR RATIO
For example.
I have 4.56's with a .75 overdrive
4.56 x .75 = 3.42 overall gear ratio
So when I use that chart I need to use 3.42 as my gear ratio.

2002= 45RFE with a .75 overdrive
2003-UP = 545RFE with a .67 overdrive
I hope that helps.

If you are not going with any bigger tires, and you don't tow that often, and you aren't in need of more power?? Then staying with your stock gears will be your best bet! If you don't want that extra power for a faster truck, or towing or 4 wheeling, then I personally wouldn't spend the money on new gears! Chrysler reccomends you change your diff fluid about every 15,000 miles if I remember correctly, so if you go 50,000-60,000 without changing it, it will wear more excessively. And if your stock clips in your diff fall off which is a know problem with dodges, then I would invest in 4:10 or 4:56 gears at that time without question!? As I understand your situation, you should be fine with what you have.

i think its a little off too, because it said something like 2800rpm for 35 with 4.56 gears. now i dont have 4.56's but i plan on getting them, and theres no way in hell at 60 mph my truck will putting out close to 3k rpms!
