You can use the 4.7 Trans on the Hemi and other mopar small blocks. Its the same transmission, a guy on youtube even put a Hemi in front of a native V6 trans ;-)

A Hemi Motor will Not bolt to any transmission Dodge ever made..The Bell Housing bolts are only the same on one V-8 Motor , that's the 4.7..I'm not sure about the new V-6 , But you wouldn't want to use a V-6 Trans. Any way..It would not hold up..So If you have a 318- or -360 and you're going to bolt the transmission to a Hemi..Forget it , un less you can figure out a way to change the Bell Housing..

Are you high? you most certainly can bolt a 318, 340 & 360 trans to the 5.7,6.1, 6.2 and 6.4 Hemi engines. Everybody is doing it, I suggest you get with the times and brush up. In some cases all that's needed is a trans shim for certain torque converters, and since the hemi is internally balanced, you're going to want to use a converter from a 318 or 340 and buy a $60 flex plate from Mopar performance without the starter ring gear specifically for this application.

For your information the V6 trans and V6 rear ends in the ram are the same ones used in V8s.

Default 04...4.7 to 5.7...

with a manual transmission. I would take for granted that my 04/4.7, 5 speed manual is a pretty rare and the "donor truck" would probably be an AUTOMATIC....
Balance issue's?
Use my flywheel?
On the look-out for a donor...I know how many 4.7 half rebuilt in the bone yards I've seen...and I know why...not that she hasn't been great, cause she has, I just know the price of a timing kit and if blown before hand rebuilding is "sketchy" at best.
She's tired...300k...love my Bessy!

Default Ok so now i am smiling.....

I own a '04, 4.7. 5 spd manual 4x4 and I call her "Bessy"!!!
Yes I have seen a ton of "half rebuilt" 4.7 in the bone yards, timing and oil screen clog seems to be the culprit? Besides those extra tight tolerances on the 4.7, my "Bessy" has performed mind boggling well!
With 300K, I too am looking to "swap up" to a 5.7 hemi, for both the power aspect and ease of rebuild, timing and such.
Donor trucks with 5.7 hemi's are everywhere, but finding one with a manual, well there's the trick!
To put a 5.7 in my already manual truck, does anyone have a "MUST HAVE LIST"...can I take a donar from/with an auto and use my flywheel? I know the clutch is the same...but the starter may be a horse with different spots!
Gas pedal, front ecm..purge system...mounts..... manifolds...don't care for air anyway or cruise, she's a worker not a looker!
Do I need to grab a tranny ecm (is there one for a manual?)
Like I said SMILING..cause at least I am not alone in the boat! And Bessy to BOOT!
My Bessy.....

You need a 03' to 06' Hemi and 04' complete wiring harness .. It will plug into the white plug under you're dash.. Look Up My thread " 2002 Ram get HemiDak-Quads Hemi"..
It will show you what to do.. I'll help you if you need it ...
Other than the complete wiring harness from the 03 to 06 hemi is there anything thing else I'll need??
