I was driving my company vehicle and looked in my rear view mirror and saw this brand new all black dodge ram 3500. I noticed the front looked different. The front grill was all black like a sport, but the center vertical and horizontal bar was chrome (not the outside rim just the center bars), and it looked like a big chrome cross. I first thought, I didn't see it right, but I saw either the same truck or another one that looked identical today. Is this factory or aftermarket? or am I going crazy. Has anyone else seen this? if so I need to make my 04 look the same..........it looked sick!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've actually seen quite a few of these and I believe they are factory. If you called a couple different dealers one of them could probably tell you. I installed the chrome grille insert on my ram myself and had to take the center bars off. It screwed back in place after the insert was in. It was easy to do so if you got a grille cross you could just replace the existing one.
The new dakotas look okay but i'm not sure i would like them on a full size. I like the curvature of the rams.

in 2002 and 2003 the Ram Laramie, (SLT+ in 02), came with a color match grill around the outside, with chrome crosshair, and the honeycomb inserts. This was only avail on the laramie, the top end truck. In 2004 it was changed to all chrome with the chrome inserts (on the laramie) that have been standard on the sport editions since 2002.
