I saw that they have a spray on bedliner that you can buy at a autoparts store. All I want to do is spray the bedrails, tailgate, and bumpers. I can tell that it is not as thick as a regular spray-in but all im looking for is looks. HAs anyone used this stuff, I saw it on TRUCKS. Also how hard is it to prep chrome for painting?

My friend put a Herculiner roll on liner in his truck, it turned out awesome (I was surprised), It actually looks and feels like a $500 Rhino Liner. He paid about $80 for the kit, but you can buy a smaller quart sized if you are only doing the rails...

If your painting chrome, sand the **** out of it. If it shines then it'll probably chip

Used it on chrome and didn't sand enough and it chipped. Sanded it better and it stood up decent.

Well I really take care of my truck as in I dont just throw stuff in the bed and I try not to touch the rails anyway. My whole goal is to get rid of my cheap bed rail covers that are taped on becuase everytime I wash the thing water gets stuck under it and the next morning I see water deposit all over the side of the truck. It kinda pisses me off. I am second guessing doing the bumpers though so I might just do the rails.

well im not worring about chipping becuase the only thing that goes back there is mx bikes and surfboards but what about fading. ITs probably not as bad as my covers right now? I am not going to do the whole bed though just rails. But since you used the stuff will it work fine for my application. I wanted to get a spray in but there expensive and I got some other stuff I have to take care of not to mention I might not be keeping the truck forever.

I just finished doing my bed rails with this stuff. It turned out great. I did prep everything perfect I jus kind of mest up on masking, the rails come down lower in the rear than the front, nothing noticable. I have to say this spray in bed liner in a can is great. I dont recomend doing the whole bed bed little jobs like bed rails or bumpers it works perfect. I will get some pics up tonight. Overall im impressed!

I used the Duplicolor gallon cans and borrowed a sprayer from someone who used to do the pro spray in liners. I sanded the bed, sprayed it heavier over spots that would get the most wear. It looked great, but chipped like crazy after a month or 2, even the really thick areas. If I had it to do again, I would spend the extra for the real thing.
