turn-down exhaust
well my flow master 40 series has some rust spots and i believe after an off road adventure of mine last week, a fin inside the muffler has rattled loose, so now it sounds pretty bad. i also have a SI/DO 40 series just laying around, so im having that put in. after calling a few muffler shops i decided that i didnt want to spend the money they wanted, especially because i dont plan on having the truck forever. i just wanted to see what it looked like if i had turndowns...so those of you that have turn downs on your trucks..please post pics.. and is the drone bad at all or not really?

I just took my turndown off about 3 weeks ago. I had a 3 inch single in and out flowmaster. It sounded great when it want not in MDS mode. The truck really sounded mean. As far as the drone....well, it was tollerable to me, but the GF didnt like it. Honestly tho, my truck felt weak in the low end with the turndown, felt like it deff lost power. Now i have duals out the back on an angle and i got my bottom end back.

i have teh super 44 dumped 3 in/out theres not much drone in my qc, its a 4.7 and sounds really deep and that was what i was looking for i hate pipes coming out and raspiness. I didnt notice any power loss, and it actually felt faster, louder when i added my cai and later my sc which whines so loud in WOT you can barely hear my exhaust. Heres a video of a pull to about 3k before i had the sc installed and tuned. also heres a pic of it dumped sorry about quality its night here and i couldnt see!

Buy a damn $350 mig welder and do the stuff yourself kid! Seriously though, a mig is so easy to use, you could teach yourself how to weld using scrap metal in an afternoon and there would be so much you could use it for. I've done my own exhausts since I was 16, not to mention a few for other people.
Not to mention, fixing stuff for other people (all just word of mouth kinda stuff) that it pays for the cost of the welder over again every two to three months.
I have not even touched my 220 stick welder in a couple of years and only use a gas setup when I'm fixing something where it's impractical to get electricity to where I'm working...

I have the gas conversion kit but have never even unboxed it. If I have a project that's big enough to require gas, then I'll plug in the 220 Lincoln stick welder. Now if I didn't have that already to fall back to, then I'd have a bottle of gas sitting around for larger projects. But exhaust work doesn't need it, not if you have a higher end 110 Mig, something that lets you set the current up to 130A or higher is fine for exhaust work...
