The only noise mine makes is the slight clicking of the injectors at an idle. No valvetrain noise. 4200 miles now.

I can hear my tick or hollow knock if you will with the hood down and the driver door open while I'm sitting half in/out of the truck. It's there f you listen for it. Open the hood and you cannot hear it over the fan belt. My 2000 Silverado had the common piston slap they called it for the 4.8L, but it was valve noise as well. My ears have been so used to hearing that exact noise, I knew right away what it was. pisses me off at only 400miles. WTF

But, I have been driving it like I stole it for the most part and now I have 2400miles. Hasn't gotten any worse.
