Coated My Rocker Panels Today
I just got done spraying my rocker panels with the Plasti-Kote Bed Liner. I used Dupli Color on my last truck and I think it was a better product than this one but I'll give it a month or two to see how it holds up. I am trying to dress it up a little as I had to trade my 05 cummins for this truck three weeks ago and it's been a very difficult down grade for me....
But I am getting used to it, once I can get some fender flares and a leveling kit on it I think I will be much happier.

Thanks guys,
I would like to remove the bumper and spray there as well but between the kids and honey-dos I barely had enough time to do this. Now that it is done I don't really like the chrome door bumpers either. I think if I sand them down enough the coating will probably bond to those as well. I am going to give this product a couple of weeks to see how well it holds up. If it works well I am probably going to put another 3-4 coats on.

Should I ask what you plan to do with it that it needs such armor there? My truck is 5 years old and the rockers still look new.

I live a mile down a gravel road, plus I drive about 150-300 miles of forest roads every year during hunting/camping. On my last truck the rocker panels looked like the face of the moon within 6 months. Not to mention I like that it breaks up the white a little bit. That part of the truck obviously sees the most dirt and with the black coating helps to keep to looking cleaner.

There were many factors, but the main was operating costs. Not only is diesel a $1.00 more a gallon, but the oil went up by 20% and I was going through tires once a year at $1,200.00 a pop. Also the 48RE was starting to have issues and I didn't have the cash on hand to take care of it. I figure this truck will get me through the next couple of years and once they have the bugs worked out of the new motor I'll buy one.
