Default Help - 2003 Ram 1500 Wiper Arm Alignment

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 (Hemi) during a recent snow I started my truck to warm it up and not realizing it until my wipers popped from the ice and snow that I had left the wiper switch on (my stupidity). The wiper motor seems to work fine through all cycles but the wipers are off 45 degrees from where they should be when the switch is turned off.

I’ve pulled off the plastic cowl from under the hood. I have access to all the guts to the wiper assembly. If I could figure out the original alignment of the wiper linkage crank arm that’s bolted to the wiper motor shaft and the relationship of the key way slot in the wiper posts. I’ve not been to successful finding the right location. Is there anybody out there that might have done this before?
Thanks
John

Welcome to the forum. I personally have not had mine apart. Perhaps the bodyshop at a local dealer can give you a free pointer on the alignment.

I've taken the wipers off my truck before. It's not hard to do at all. Here is what you do (1.) raise the wiper arm till it is locked back (the spring holds it in place). Then at the base of the wiper arm where it attaches to the post it a little tab that locks the arm in place to the post. (2.) Pull the tab back and pull the arm off the post. It may take some wiggiling to get the arm off, but that's how they come off. As for adjusting the angle the post have several notches on them that allow you to adjust the angle of the wiper arm. I have mine just about parallel with the windshield. Just keep in mind you don't want them to run into the wiper cowl or off the windshield. Hope this helps.

I would try that first and see if that fixes your problem before you take anything else apart.
