I'm pretty sure it's physically impossible for a halogen bulb to discriminate where it projects light........but lxman could always copy and paste his email so I can complain about the same thing and get another set for free 
Did you take the whole housing out?
You also got to remember, those bulbs burn a lot hotter than stock, the way the light looks on pavement is going to be totally different.

The up down adjustment screws is under the light and above the bumper where it is hard to see. Using a T20 torx You have to push down on the plastic under your head light to see it. That is your up and down adjustment. Counter clockwise will raise the beam and clockwise will lower. The left and right adjustment is on the side of the light...

Well, I removed the whole doghouse and there is only the one outer adjustment. Nothing between the bumper and light.
The insert is not solidly mounted inside of the whole assembly, but is non adjustable. I'll ask my dealer at the next oil change.
It might be there on the 02-05, but not on my 08!!! Bummer. There is not even an Ultra out for the 08 yet. We use a 9008 (H13) bulb. I do have the ultra's in my driving lights and they are very bright!!

OK so I was was looking at a of pair of headlights I have torn apart to paint just in case I have to adjust them and yea the Haynes manual that I quoted in an earlier post is 100% wrong. The up and down adjustment screw in in the rear of the headlight not in the front.

so how bout i go out to my truck yesterday evening to try and adjust my lights and i find that both the adjusting screws underneath the lights are busted off! and on top of that only one of the ones on the side even works!! the other one is so stripped out that i couldnt turn it!! so i guess its time to pick up some projector lights!! ebay here i come!!!! lol
