Also, I'll definitely agree that we've got more pulling power than the 5.3. And like my truck, whenever I take off on a sand road, I just spin my tires for a good little ways.
yes it is hard to not spin the tires whenever you can! I know I am guilty of that! But I have had morning where it has been -25 plus a wind chill which puts it at -45+ and my truck has started every time and ran like a champ!

I say "almost" because my old 5.3 was a 99 which is the weaker year for the 5.3.

On paper it looks that way....but that's not always the case. With the electric fans from the factory and the more efficient tranny the 5.3 puts down the same rw numbers as a hemi...unfortunately.

My Chevy's were 350's. I once was coming back from a hydro plane race east of the mountains in 100+ degree heat pulling a 18 foot ski boat and the truck was running hotter than hell. I had to run the heater full blast so I could make it home. I drank 2 gallons of gatorade over the 250 mile trip. Sold the truck within a week.

If you think that Chevy or Ferd is better then why do you all drive Rams?? I drive a Ram because I think they will out last any other! If I thought something would out last it I would have bought something else!!!! Just my 2 cents
200000 Miles on a RAM
250000 miles on a F-150
A Milli. on a Silverado

Default Please read!!!!

WOW! You lot still on the ***** thing!?!?!? Even a certain homophobe here insinuated that I might gay because I mention the word more then once! So what if I was? (I'm not by the way so get off of your high homophobe horse) who cares! At least I have the excuse of being a diagnosed sociopath due to severe head injuries sustained in a motorcycle racing accident! That night unfortunately I was being stupid, not by what I posted although I do admit that it was a bit much on my part but due to the fact that I was blind drunk and didn't take my mood stabalizers!!! Hence the drug analogy! I wasn't saying I was taking illegal drugs, I was saying that I'm taking prescription meds. Oh and on that subject, serving time for drug offences doesn't make you a man just makes you a felon! So sometimes you might have to tolerate me shooting my mouth off due to the reasons I have mentioned earlier. I am not here to persecute anyone and if on the odd occasion or in the past I do **** someone off here you have my sincerest apologies. If it's any consolation I just can't help it sometimes. Everyone here will have different opinions and experiences, that doesn't mean that they are lying. A bit more human understanding and or compassion wouldn't go a miss here. After all aren't we supposed to be helping and or advising members with our knowledge and experience? Not b**ching and fighting!

most sensible thing i've seen posted in this thread

working on cars i get to drive all sorts of the trucks in addition to my own obviously for comparison. here's what i personally think. reliability they are all great. all have their downfalls but overall each one is a great truck and i'd own any one of them.

still i prefer my dodge. my dodge feels in a way sporty i feel like i can feel the road and that i have a firm control of it and that the truck just feels tough. it feels like the muscle car of the truck world.
when i drive the chevy's and fords i feel like i'm driving an old persons car. very slouchy just not a sporty feel. just don't like it to be honest. i don't hate the trucks i'm merely pointing this out.
