06 2500 with headlight issues...TIPM?
Hey Izero -
By the time he purchases the dimmer and the multi-function switch and then spends the time installing them, he'll probably have less into the flash. Sadly, some of these programmers just don't seem to have the power distribution quite right, so they aren't very forgiving. It really is too bad that he is kind of way up there in Canada as it really limits access to the number of dealers.

hey so i havnt been to any dealer yet, working a ton!. what about if i installed hids? would that do anybetter>? or still need that power to headlight>? im not sure. these stock headlights suck.
Well what you can do is get two relays and wire them to a single pull double throw switch and just install the HIDs direct to battery power through the relays.... only downside is you wont be able to use much of any of the OEM wiring, so the install will be a little lengthy....
I can draw you up a wire diagram if you really need it, but it should be pretty easy.
Just lemme know.

I've also got the same problem with my headlights and have had the same go-round at a number of dealerships when it comes to 'flashing' or 're-setting' the TIPM. Thanks to all the previous contributers to this forum... it has been helpful and i will be going back to the dealer here in Missoula 're-armed'. I will also register my complaint and add my voice for recall of this rediculously expensive and poorly conceived and engineered 'cash-grab'. I have nothing to offer as far as insights as to how to circumvent the inevitable $90 scan and $895 replacement TIPM and 1 1/2 hr labour charge to fix it. I have a question however... can not the headlights be setup/operated like old style headlights... relays and changeable fuses and the TIPM by-passed completely? Run new wires from the switch to relay/fuses directly to the lights?
Also... has this problem been adressed and fixed in 2009 to 2013 models? I have not seen similar forums for those years adressing this issue. Thanks

I just fixed my problem with it,
went to the wreckers, bought a used fusebox, $150, I think you call it a tipm,
spent 5 mins pulling it out of the wrecked truck, 2005 dodge 1500.
took 15 mins to take out mine and install used one in my truck, 2005 dodge 1500.
done, it all works now,
dont see why is so complicated. easy fix for the issue.

Hi,
I am with a law firm that recently filed a class action lawsuit against Chrysler involving its 2011-2012 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Dodge Durango vehicles. The lawsuit alleges that these Chrysler vehicles are equipped with a defective TIPM that causes numerous electrical problems for the vehicles and poses serious safety risks for consumers.
