May I ask the question if you have ever lifted a IFS suspension truck before? Not to be sarcastic but seriously have you? The SFA without a doubt I would go with a 6 or 8 inch lift because you can do it all with suspension lift, but the IFS trucks are alot different. We cant do that much lift because it will overstress our front ends (CV, Tierods, u-joints, ect...) and will just lead to disaster... Espescially with the size tire that I am looking into. The only true way to pull this off is by using a 4'' supension lift (which keeps everything pretty close to stock angles) and do the rest with a small body lift and some trimming. I know that they move the truck off the frame a little bit, but if you get wheel well liners it will look great and just be much bigger than stock. The one's that look ridiculous are the ones that lift it and leave the large gap in a visible area and also don't relocate the bumper. If you know what you are doing you can pull it off and make it look great. Just look at DODGENITTO's truck.

Default Up to you

its up to you but i have an 02 ram with a 7 inch lift and i put in a 1/4 spacer on all the wheel, the truck is sitting on the stock 20's and is rapped in 37's and when ever i turn the wheel mostly when the road is slope just a little i can hear it hitting the fender wells...but on stright roads and for parking on the street is fine...so if your going to get that big of a tire size i would say yeah you could space and trim but i dunno if you would like the rubbing sound everytime you went over a bump....i would say go to a 5 inch lift and see what you get.

Do you have a 2WD? I have never seen a 7in suspension lift for a 4x4 in the IFS suspension system unless you did the 4'' suspension and 3'' body. And the reason you are having rubbing issues is because your stock 20's don't have any backspacing. If you were to buy some aftermarket rims with 4.5'' of backspacing or so that would eliminate your problem.

sorry i did fail to mention that it is a 2wd and the lift is from CST..i know about going to after rims for the rubbing issure, but like i said the crown of the road is what makes it happen, but it doesn't bother me cuz it only happens when i am backing in to my driveway..but other than that is perfectly fine for regular road use....

I hear you, I see them all the time around where I live and yeah they look like crap.

What I mean is if they are going to spend the money they should save up and do it right so the truck doesn't look like a POS.

I hear ya, but even though I have a suspension lift myself, and personally would never do a body lift again (unless it was combined with a suspenision lift), if done correctly with the gap guards and bumper brackets and combine it with a level kit, they can look as good as a suspension lift. IMO if you can't afford a suspension lift or play hard off-road, the body lift/level combination beats no lift at all.
Look at some of the body kits done right, DodgeNitto comes to mind, his looks every bit as good as the suspension lifted trucks...

Exactly, if it's done correctly it looks fine.

What I see is 6" + lifted trucks with body lifts and huge tires and they look terrible.

Unfortunately our IFS trucks were not made to be lifted over 6'' and handle tires bigger than 35 inches; however, some of us want to push the envolope and in order to do so you can only suspension lift 4'' because that keeps the front end at stock angles, which is the most important thing in order to pull this off. I am going to try and have a custom BL put on that is only 2'' because I want the 37's to clear but I don't want much space left in that wheel well. Just enough to turn and fully flex. I have no problems with a little bit of trimming to get the job done. lol

Go to home depot and spend $15 on a heat gun and spend some time re-molding your wheel wells! You can get it so that the tire will not rub on your wheel well.

3" front level, 3" body and a 3" rear add-a-leaf. If I had a solid front axle I would have done an 8" suspension, but with Ifs I am playing it safe! Sure I 4-wheel, but No where near as hard as I could if I had a SFA

And for those who say body lifts look like crap! I beg to differ!
