Default finally got my license plates!

so when you get a new truck apperantly you have to license it. lol.
i forgot to do this until yesterday, scrambling around the house looking for property tax reciepts, my new insurance card, title, blah blah blah, took like and hour to find all this stuff.(turns out im not very organized)
so i get to the dmv finally even though its only 2 blocks away i couldnt find it. turns out its a contract office so its a insurance/payday loan/hunting permit/dmv. i found this to be odd, but whatever.
so i happily hand the nice lady my regristation of title, and she types in the computer. she gives me my plates, and the little stickers for the year. i pay $661 for sales tax. and thats it. plates are good till 2012. yay!
she was supposed to see my inspection papers, and insurance and all that garbage that the dmv makes u go through.
so i asked her about it and she replied: " oh were pretty lienient around here we dont work for the state of missouri and i figured if you didnt have some of your paperwork then it would ruin you day. "
i wanted to give her a hug.
never had a dmv person been so nice. i couldnt believe it.
just thought i would share that very rare excellent experience at the dmv with you all.
merry holidays!

I supprised that there is a pawn shop/drugstore/carwash/DVM/Porno movie store, or whatever you said all in one.

Our DMV is DMV only, with get a ticket and wait for them to call it type deal

You guys don't even know how strict California's DMV is and how much they try to milk every little bit of money out of you. My registration for my Ram is still on the $300+ range and it's 5 years old! every time i go in there it's a fee for this, a tax for that. Two of our pinkslips are incorrect, and they made us pay $40 each to send them back in and correct their mistakes! This rotten state is so expensive!!! It's nice that you guys have it easy, someone has to! =-)
happy holidays guys!

we don't even have a DMV to do registration like that.we go to the tax assors office for registrations.your DMV checks to see if your inspection is up to date???.here they don't even care if it is or not,the only people that check are the DOT(highway patrol).

Yup, when I grew up in N.Y., you had to use up a whole sick day from work. Lines out the ying-yang and you never got in & out in less than 4-5 hours.
Moved to Georgia in '91 and have never spent more than 15 minutes at the tag office yet!!!

thats crazy, up here in Canada all the inspections stuff is entered by computer at the shop. then you just go to a kiosk ( found at the malls ), slide in your DL and CC, type in your insurance # and the sticker pops out. usually takes about 2 to 3 minutes. i haven't been in the DMV for years.

It must be nice to do that crap that fast. I wish it was like that here. Its funny, the DMV close by is always packed. I think people camp out the night before. Ten blocks away is another one thats about as empty as a bottle of rum at my house.

I was at another DMV trying to get my fingerprints taken so I can be cleared to get my hazmat endorsement. I was literally the 4th person in line outside the building before it opened. It opened at 7. I wasnt out till 11:30. I left with flames out of my head and a lead foot.
